The White House - Blog Post - A Vision for High Speed Rail
Hells yes.

Just read this great blog article (http://www.inter-sections.net/2009/02/21/destroying-the-world-of-warcraft) that does a great job at describing the affects of gaming addiction and the steps this writer took to confront and end it. I’ve always known I’ve had an addictive personality when it comes to imagination driven pastimes (reading and gaming mostly). It’s been a long time since I last felt truly addicted to a game (it was also WoW for me – back in 2004) but reading this blog reminds me of my struggle with the balancing of life and the game. Back when I played, the lvl cap was 60 which I never reached. But it took a herculean effort to step out of the world and I was only able to accomplish it because finals were approaching and I knew I needed a solid week of studying to prepare for my physics exam. After the test was over, I logged back in and strangely found I no longer had the desire to play. Instead I tried to force myself back into the gaming groove and when after a week I still wasn’t enjoying it like I had, I cancelled my account. I still have fond memories of the game – blizzard created an amazing world in this game – but I’m happy with the use I’ve put to my free time since then.

You probably saw a couple headlines last week about how Lance Armstrong’s TT bike was stolen. The bike was later delivered to the Sacramento Police (though I’m not sure his teammates who lost bikes were so lucky). Anyway, if you paid attention to the Tour of California, you’ll recognize Dave Zabriske as the eventual 2nd place finisher – 30 seconds or so behind Levi Leipheimer. Zabriske, it seems, finally made it home today from the race only to discover that his house has been ransacked. This gives “bike thief” a whole new meaning…
Pretty cool page put together by William’s Cycling. Commentary and videos on the major climbs by Mike Hernandez – one of the most feared riders of the NorCal race circuit (but a super nice guy) – is pretty insightful.
